Full list of the 18 cars entered for the 2019 DTM season

The entry list for the 2019 DTM season has now been finalised, with an 18 car field set to do battle over the course of the campaign.

The announcement of Pietro Fittipaldi’s signing with WRT filled the final vacancy on the grid, with the Brazilian completing a all-rookie line-up with the series newcomers.

Both Audi Sport and BMW Motorsport will field six cars each. R-Motorsport, heralding Aston Martin’s arrival to the series, has entered four cars for the whole season.

The implementation of customer teams wasn’t as successful as expected. On one side, Audi chose WRT, which will receive some factory support for their first year in the series. On the other BMW, with a different strategy and mindset, wasn’t able to secure a customer team for this season.

The grid will count with five champions: Mike Rockenfeller (2013) and René Rast (2017) competing for Audi Sport; Bruno Spengler (2012) and Marco Wittmann (2014 and 2016) in BMW Motorsport’s ranks; and Paul di Resta (2010), who moved to Aston Martin after Mercedes-AMG’s exit from the DTM.

There will also be five rookies: Brazilian Pietro Fittipaldi and South African Jonathan Aberdein for WRT; British driver Jake Dennis and Austrian Ferdinand Habsburg with Aston Martin; and South African Sheldon van der Linde with BMW Motorsport.
