Nicky Catsburg and Kevin Ceccon reprimanded for Race 3 incidents
BRC Racing Team’s Nicky Catsburg and Team Mulsanne driver Kevin Ceccon have both been given one-point endorsements on their licences following incidents in the final race in Hungary, while Augusto Farfus and Aurélien Panis were cleared after two separate investigations.
Catsburg had been found guilty of colliding with Yvan Muller’s Lynk & Co on lap two of Race 3, causing Muller to drop down the order, and the Hyundai driver was given a one-point endorsement on his racing licence.
Ceccon meanwhile was punished for a transgression with WRT driver Gordon Shedden, after passing the Scotsman’s Audi with contact on lap five, and was also given a one-point endorsement.
The stewards also investigated two incidents from Race 2, involving Aurélien Panis and Augusto Farfus.
Comtoyou Racing Cupra driver Panis had gone wide and rejoined the track, making contact with the BRC Hyundai of Norbert Michelisz, but the stewards decided Panis wasn’t fully to blame for the incident.
Likewise BRC Hyundai’s Augusto Farfus was investigated for contact with the PWR Racing Cupra of Mikel Azcona, but again, the stewards decided no action was necessary.
