Hyundai get maximum weight for Zandvoort outing
The BRC Racing Team Hyundais will carry the maximum compensation weight at the upcoming round of the 2019 World Touring Car Cup at Zandvoort, following the South Korean marque’s strong performance last weekend at the Slovakiaring.
The Hyundai i30 N TCR will carry the top amount of 60kg of ballast onboard this weekend, at a circuit where the car famously struggled last year, with no Hyundai driver able to finish in the points at the Dutch circuit, although at that point the cars were running with a one-off Balance of Performance setting of 100mm of ride height.
The Honda Civic TCRs will drop 10kg of weight after they were slightly off the pace in Slovakia, despite picking up a 1-2 finish in the reversed grid race and still lead the drivers’ standings with Néstor Girolami.
The Audi RS 3 LMS and Cupra TCRs will run with 40kg of ballast, while the Lynk & Co 03 TCR, Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR and Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce will run with the lowest weight of 30kg each, with the Volkswagen granted dispensation by the FIA following their change back to the original ECU at the last race.
