Matías Rossi leads Toyota 1-2 in Villicum qualifying

Toyota locked out the Super TC 2000 front row for round three at the El Villicum circuit, located in San Juan province. Matías Rossi and Julián Santero headed the qualifying session followed by Chevrolet’s Agustín Canapino.

Rossi set a time of 1:48.708 in the Super Qualifying session, beating Santero, who headed the first qualifying session, by just 0.020 seconds.

Canapino grabbed third place for the race, 0.375 behind Rossi, followed by team-mate Bernardo Llaver and reigning champion Facundo Ardusso. Facundo Chapur of Citroën completed the top six from the Super Qualifying session.

Seventh and quickest of the ones who didn’t make to the final part of qualifying was Renault’s Matías Milla, ahead of team-mate Leonel Pernía, while Honda’s José Manuel Urcera and Fiat’s Matías Muñoz Marchesi rounded off the top ten.

This is the first time the championship will race at El Villicum, a brand new track built in 2018. The race is scheduled for 12:00 local time on Sunday, running for 24 laps or 50 minutes.
