Thed Björk back in championship hunt after “rollercoaster” of a week

Cyan Racing’s Thed Björk has launched back into the championship fight after two victories at Zandvoort, hailing the performance of Lynk & Co at the Dutch race weekend after a disaster just seven days ago at the Slovakiaring, when Björk only scored six points across the whole weekend.

At Zandvoort, the 38-year-old racked up 63 points over the whole weekend, 19 more than the next closest scorer, his Lynk & Co team-mate Yann Ehrlacher, and has now launched to second in the standings, 11 points behind Honda driver Esteban Guerrieri

“It’s been a rollercoaster from Slovakia to here, but for me as a driver, I got the car that I wanted – it felt and did everything I wanted” said Björk to TouringCarTimes.

“And when you have that, the lap time comes. As you can see, it worked with all our other cars as well, so it really suited us here.

“Let’s see now how it goes, as we know the performance can really go up and really go down some weekends. When we go to the Nürburgring now, I expect the others will outrun us, we’ll see. It may be good.

“It’s tight in the championship, but it feels good to be back there, and now we go to the Nürburgring – I love Nürburgring, I love Vila Real, I love Ningbo, so bring it on!”
