Yvan Muller excluded from qualifying at Zandvoort

Cyan Racing’s Yvan Muller has been excluded from qualifying at Circuit Zandvoort after an overboost on his pole position lap.

Muller had secured his first pole position in WTCR with a time of 1:44.158, nearly half a second clear of his nearest rival, but with the overboost, the stewards removed his lap time.

Muller will therefore start from fifth on the grid in his Lynk & Co 03 TCR, after only his times from Q3 were deleted.

Yann Ehrlacher has therefore inherited his first career pole position from his uncle. The 22-year-old will start ahead of team-mate Thed Björk, with Norbert Michelisz and Augusto Farfus leading an all-Hyundai row two.
