30kg weight break for the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR C-ECU

The technical department of the WSC Group has released a new Balance of Performance (BoP) bulletin that has the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR with the common ECU (C-ECU) receiving a 30kg reduction.

The reduction brings its minimum racing weight down to 1,265kg from the previous 1,295kg.

Also included in the bulletin is an increase in maximum boost pressure for the Renault Mégane RS TCR and the Subaru WRX STi TCR.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR C-ECU was used by Sébastien Loeb Racing for the first two rounds of the 2019 World Touring Car Cup, before they switched to the original ECU from the third round at the Slovakiaring after struggling in the first two events.

This means the C-ECU Golf isn’t presently racing anywhere.
