Augusto Farfus and Gabriele Tarquini go to the back of the grid for Vila Real Race 2
Augusto Farfus and Gabriele Tarquini with both start from the final row of the grid for the upcoming race at the Vila Real street circuit, after the BRC Racing Team opted to change the engines in the two drivers’ Hyundai i30 N TCRs.
With Tarquini and Farfus having qualified in 17th and 20th respectively, with Farfus also running into trouble when he hit the wall at the start of qualifying, the Italian team have taken the opportunity to make an engine change with the minimal grid penalty presented; also as it’s unlikely either driver will progress much into the points at the hard-to-pass Portuguese track.
Meanwhile, Team Mulsanne are continuing repairs on Kevin Ceccon’s Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce after his severe crash in Q2, with it looking likely he will make it out for the start of Race 2 and take up his 12th place on the grid.
