Woes continue for Robin Frijns at Assen with qualifying exclusion

Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline drivers Robin Frijns’ nightmares have continued at his home event after the Dutchman was excluded from Saturday’s qualifying session at Assen.

Frijns finished the session in twelfth position, a second adrift from pole sitter Marco Wittmann (BMW).

Team Abt Sportsline’s admitted to a technical problem during the session, with the mechanics now breaking the parc fermé regulations to repair a leak in the oil tank.

The stewards have consequently excluded Frijns from the qualifying results, although the Audi driver will be allowed to start the race from the back of the grid.
