Matías Rossi claims Salta pole position for Toyota

Matías Rossi claimed pole position in today’s qualifying at the Salta circuit, a return for the Super TC 2000 championship after an absence of seven years. The Toyota driver was followed by Renault Sport’s Facundo Ardusso and Toyota team-mate Julián Santero.

Bernardo Llaver secured a strong fourth place for the Chevrolet factory team, as the Renault Sport duo of Matías Milla and Leonel Pernía completed the top six of the Super Qualifying session.

Facundo Conta of Renault, José Manuel Urcera of Honda, Mariano Werner of Fiat and Ricardo Risatti of Honda were knocked out after the first qualifying session, placed from seventh to tenth respectively.

Chevrolet’s Agustín Canapino is absent from this round as he takes part in the Brazilian Stock Car V8 Championship round at Santa Cruz do Sul for Hot Car team, reducing the Super TC 2000 entrants to 16 this weekend.

The last time the championship raced at the “Martín Miguel de Güemes” Circuit (3409 metres) was November 4th 2012, a race that then vice-champion Leonel Pernía won for Renault Sport.

This weekend’s race is scheduled for 12:00 ARG time and runs for 30 laps or 50 minutes.
