Alfa, Cupra, Hyundai and Lynk & Co gain weight for Suzuka

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR, Cupra TCR, Hyundai i30 N TCR and Lynk & Co 03 TCR cars will gain weight for this weekend’s World Touring Car Cup races at Suzuka.

The Alfa Romeos will gain the most, adding 40kg of compensation weight for the Japanese races, with the Cupras gaining 20kg.

Both the Hyundai i30 N TCR and Lynk & Co 03 TCR cars will gain 10kg.

Two car models will drop compensation weight for Suzuka, with the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR cars dropping 20kg and the Audi RS 3 LMSs dropping 10kg.

The sole car remaining at the same weight as in the previous round at Ningbo, China, is the Honda Civic Type-R FK8 TCR, sitting at the maximum of 60kg, as are the Hyundais.

The compensation weights are based on the average lap times from the previous race weekends, with the Hondas and Hyundais as the fastest cars on average currently.

The Lynk & Cos are one tenth behind, the Alfa Romeos, Volkswagens and Cupras two tenths behind while the Audis are four tenths behind on average.
