Bennani, Farfus, Michelisz, Monteiro and Panis penalised

A further six drivers have received penalties for “driving unnecessarily slow” during yesterday’s World Touring Car Cup qualifying session, including pole sitter Tiago Monteiro.

Medhi Bennani, Augusto Farfus, Jim Ka To, Norbert Michelisz, Monteiro and Aurelien Panis have all received a three-place grid drop, €500 fine and one penalty point to their license.

More drivers are under investigation for the same infringement and the final grid will be published one hour before the first race, 14:05 local time.

Yesterday saw five drivers receiving penalties for driving too slow during free practice two, the latest addition makes it a total of nine drivers so far receiving penalties.
