Nicky Catsburg handed five-place grid penalty

Nicky Catsburg has been handed a five-place grid penalty for the first World Touring Car Cup race of the weekend in Malaysia, as well as two penalty points.

The Hyundai driver was handed the penalty failing to slow down and overtaking cars during a full course yellow.

Catsburg had qualified seventh and will drop down to 12th position, elevating Hyundai colleague Gabriele Tarquini to seventh.

The steward’s report stated:

“Car #88 was at 142km/h at the beginning of the FCY situation and overtook two cars.”
