Nathanaël Berthon secures WTCR return with Comtoyou

Nathanaël Berthon will return to the World Touring Car Cup this season after securing a deal to join Comtoyou Racing.

The French driver competed in the series back in 2018 with the Audi team, securing a best finish of third in Wuhan, before switching to sportscars last year with the Rebellion Racing squad.

The former GP2 racer will now return to the wheel of a Comtoyou-run Audi as team-mate to Tom Coronel, with his aim to fight towards the sharp end when the season kicks off in Austria in September.

“It is a real pleasure to be able to return to the FIA WTCR with the support and help of Audi Sport, DHL and Audi France,” he said. “I know the car and a large amount of tracks, it will not take me much time to be back in the game.

“Meeting the guys from Comtoyou Racing again makes me really happy, everything is there to win.”

Berthon and Coronel will share an Audi with Nicolas Baert – the teenage son of Comtoyou owner Jean-Michel Baert – in the 24h of Portimão later this month as preparation for the new season.
