Reduced grid set for Sonoma weekend

A reduced grid is set to contest the latest rounds of the TC America series next weekend at Sonoma Raceway, with the California circuit running the three races as part of the third meeting of the campaign.

After ten TCR cars hit the track for the previous round at Virginia International Raceway thanks to the addition of a number of DSG entries, just four cars are entered for the Sonoma meeting – with none of the DSG cars currently slated to appear.

The small entry is headlined by championship leader Tyler Maxson, who will be looking to maintain his 100 per cent winning record after taking five wins from five at the wheel of his Copeland Motorsports-run Hyundai Veloster N TCR.

With Scott Smithson – who currently sits second in the standings – missing the event, Victor Gonzalez will hope to be the person who ends the championship leader’s winning run as he lines up in his Honda Civic Type R having taken a brace of second place finishes last time out.

Roy Block continues at the wheel of his KMW Motorsports-run Alfa Romeo Giulietta, with the field rounded out by CJ Moses in the lone Honda being run by DXDT Racing – which had also run Smithson and Olivia Askew in Virginia.
