FCP Euro calls time on 2020 programme

The FCP Euro team has announced that it will not return to TC America this season after electing to call time on its 2020 programme.

With the health and safety of employees, partners, and team members in mind, the Volkswagen team elected not to return to action when the season resumed after COVID-19 delays – missing the most recent rounds at Virginia and Sonoma.

The defending champions had planned to then evaluate the possibility of rejoining the grid for the remainder of the season but has instead taken the decision to end its 2020 programme and focus on next year.

“FCP Euro has decided to pause on racing activities in 2020 to focus on the 2021 season,” a statement issued by the team to TouringCarTimes read.

“Our team is mainly comprised of FCP Euro employees, whose main job is ensuring our customers get the parts they order along with the best possible service, and COVID protocols make the travel logistics difficult for us.

“The business side is thriving and FCP Euro was just named to the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies for the seventh time. The future looks bright and we have some big moves in the works for 2021 which we will be announcing soon.”
