Esteban Guerrieri “satisfied” as Honda complete pre-season testing

Honda driver Esteban Guerrieri says he is satisfied with the pre-season testing, completing the final two test days at the Slovakiaring earlier this week.

“We’re really satisfied in general with all our results,” said Guerrieri.

All four Honda drivers were on site for the test, Tiago Monteiro, Néstor Girolami and Atilla Tassi, sharing two Honda Civic Type-R TCR race cars.

“These were the last two pre-season days before we start the season,” said Guerrieri.

“We used two test cars plus us the four drivers and engineers. We split the tasks among all of us.”

A key part of the test for the Münnich Motorsport team was to gather data on the Goodyear tyres that are new to the WTCR for this season.

“We could work on different setups and to get a good feeling of the new Goodyear tyres,” said Guerrieri.

“The tarmac temperatures were quite high, we’ll see how can we transfer that when it comes to racing as summer is ending and we’ll be racing during autumn. We also did some qualifying simulations so we’re tuned up, qualifying sessions will be crucial in the WTCR, so will be the starts.”
