2020 cars hit the track at Zolder season-opener
The World Touring Car Cup gets underway this weekend at Zolder, with cars taking to the track for the first collective session of 2020 as Thursday’s official pre-season test began this morning.
The test offers not only a first indication of the power balance in this year’s WTCR, but also brings the teams’ 2020 cars and liveries into the public eye.
The leading teams have made only minor tweaks to their designs for this season, with reigning champions Hyundai retaining their distinctive red and light blue colours.

Münnich Motorsport’s Hondas all carry the red, white and black “cracked” design, while Cyan Racing’s quartet of Lynk & Co cars unsurprisingly run in their corporate trademark Cyan blue insignia.

Local squad Comtoyou Racing fly the Belgian flag in more ways than one, with native driver Gilles Magnus showcasing the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium (RACB) emblem on his Audi car – which is fittingly all drawn up in the Belgian colours.
Magnus’ team-mates Tom Coronel and Nathanaël Berthon carry the DHL livery made so familiar by Coronel in recent years.

The new Renault Mégane RS TCR cars entered by Vuković Motorsport both took the track on Thursday morning, running an unmistakable all-black design for Jack Young and wild card driver Dylan O’Keeffe. Team Mulsanne, meanwhile, is using mainly red and white for its two Alfa Romeos, driven full-time by Jean-Karl Vernay and in wild card status for Luca Filippi this weekend.

Hungarian team Zengő Motorsport sat out the first test session of the day, but are fielding three all-new, white-coloured CUPRA Leon Competición machines for Mikel Azcona, Gábor Kismarty-Lechner and Bence Boldizs.
