Nathanaël Berthon: “I gave it everything”

Nathanaël Berthon dominated the World Touring Car Cup qualifying sessions at the Slovakiaring, claiming two pole positions for Comtoyou Racing.

“I gave it everything,” said Berthon.

“I was maybe too conservative in Q2. I knew I had the pace, but I just got into Q3. And then that lap – I don’t know! I made a small mistake at the last corner, but I’m very happy. Now I have two chances from pole position.”

Nicky Catsburg was closest to Berthon in the first qualifying session and Norbert Michelisz in the final session, underlining a strong return for Hyundai.

“I think we’re starting P2 for Race 1 and P3 in Race 3, so to be honest from where we were in Zolder, which was my last race, I think we can be very pleased,” said Catsburg.

“I don’t think I have much, if any points at all any. But let’s try and change that tomorrow.”
