Nathanaël Berthon heads Tom Coronel in final Slovakiaring practice

Nathanaël Berthon headed Audi colleague Tom Coronel in the final free practice session of the World Touring Car Cup weekend at the Slovakiaring.

The Comtoyou Racing driver lapped the Slovakian circuit in 2:01.051 and was four tenths of a second ahead of Coronel.

The session was, just as the first, red flagged once. This time it was as Cupra driver Mikel Azcona came to a halt on the circuit due to a technical issue with five minutes left, having to be towed back into the pits.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR driver Jean-Karl Vernay was third fastest, just below six tenths from Berthon’s time.

The Honda duo of Esteban Guerrieri and Néstor Girolami was fourth and fifth quickest, as Santiago Urrutia was the fastest Lynk & Co driver in sixth position.

Quadruple world champion Yvan Muller was seventh ahead of Münnich Motorsport’s Attila Tassi.

Luca Engstler was once again the fastest Hyundai driver, setting the ninth fastest time in this session while Azcona rounded off the top ten.

Next up for the WTCR field is qualifying, starting at 16:30 CEST.
