Thed Björk: “Finally a victory!”

Thed Björk had to wait until the penultimate WTCR round for his first win of 2020, winning the final race of the MotorLand Aragón weekend from second on the grid.

“Finally a victory, my first this year,” said Thed Björk.

“I fought really hard for it. I just decided at the start that it was mine and I was able to take the lead from second on the grid. A big thank you to the team.”

The Swede shared the podium with team-mate Santiago Urrutia who was the best scoring driver of the WTCR weekend with three podium finishes.

“I’m just super happy with three podiums and another 1-2 for the team,” said Urrutia.

“A massive thank you to the team, they gave me an awesome car. Now we have to focus on the last three races as the championship is very tight.”

Urrutia has climbed to a shared sixth place in the drivers’ championship with Mikel Azcona while Thed Björk is tenth.
