Frédéric Vervisch “hoping for victories” with new Audi RS 3 LMS

Frédéric Vervisch says he feels confident ahead of his return to the WTCR for the 2021 season having inked a deal to drive a new Audi RS 3 LMS for Comtoyou Team Audi Sport.

The Belgian competed in the WTCR for two seasons in 2018 and 2019 before Audi Sport placed him in GT racing last year, and Vervisch believes he can challenge for WTCR race wins with the new car.

“I know the car very well, because I was the development driver for the car,” he told TouringCarTimes. “I know it’s well balanced and I hope to be able to fight for victories with it as it’s had a very strong beginning.

“After 2019 I felt WTCR was unfinished business for me. When it was known that Audi would develop a second-generation RS 3 LMS and they were interested in me, it was a great honour and I hope we can do something great this year.”

The Belgian will be partnered by fellow countryman Gilles Magnus, returning to the series for the second year after finishing fifth in his debut season in 2020.
