Jean-Karl Vernay: “I am happy this weekend is over”

Former WTCR points leader Jean-Karl Vernay had a dismal race weekend at the Hungaroring, finishing 14th and 13th in the two races from 14th on the grid.

“I am happy this weekend is over,” said Vernay.

“We messed up our qualifying yesterday and that affected our results today.”

The Team Engstler driver has dropped to third in the standings behind the Lynk & Co duo of Yann Ehrlacher and Santiago Urrutia, 16 points adrift.

“Finishing 13th and 14th wasn’t the results we were expecting,” said Vernay.

“At least we are only 16 points behind the new leader in the drivers’ championship, but there aren’t any other positives from this weekend.”
