Esteban Guerrieri forced to sit out final WTCR race of 2021

Münnich Motorsport has confirmed that Esteban Guerrieri will not be able to take part in the final FIA World Touring Car Cup race of 2021 at Sochi Autodrom in Russia.

The Honda driver crashed heavily on the opening lap of the first race while fighting for the top positions as he put one wheel pair on the slippery painted outside line of the circuit.

The team started repair work on the car, but the short time between the races was not enough to get the Argentinian’s Honda Civic Type-R TCR ready in time.

This means that there will only be two Hondas on the grid, Néstor Girolami and Attila Tassi, as Tiago Monteiro has been forced out of the season finale due to illness.
