Ma Qing Hua impresses on debut for Lynk & Co Cyan Racing

Ma Qing Hua impressed on his return to the WTCR and debut for Lynk & Co Cyan Racing in the Pau-Ville season opener, qualifying in the top five and claimed a podium finish in the second race.

“It was a really good start of the season. We have worked really hard to achieve this,” said Ma Qing Hua.

“It’s what I’m looking for. I have a strong team, a good car, so for sure I will fight as much as I can. But in this moment, we should celebrate and not say too much and let it go!”

The Chinese driver finished sixth in the first race, third in the second and is currently sharing fourth in the drivers’ standings with team-mate Santiago Urrutia.

“The start [of Race 2] was really tight,” said Ma Qing Hua.

“I saw the crash in front and I tried to abort. At the same time I see the cars are coming again so I tried to brake and luckily I didn’t hit anything.

“So it was good. Through the race I made sure of tyre and brake management because it’s really easy to overheat. Once you overheat you never come back. I think we did well to get this done, so all good.”
