Esteban Guerrieri: “The rear just surprised me a little bit”

Esteban Guerrieri got a tough start to the FIA World Touring Car Cup weekend at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, hitting the barriers during the first free practice session.

The Münnich Motorsport driver suffered a puncture on his first run, followed by a mistake during his second run that saw him out from the remainder of the session.

“I had a puncture on the first run so for the second one we tried something a little bit different,” said Guerrieri to TouringCarTimes.

“When I got to Adenau Forst the rear just surprised me a little bit, that’s all there was to it. Now the focus is on FP2.”

The Münnich Motorsport team has repaired the damage from the incident and Guerrieri will be out for the second practice session which starts at 19:00 CEST.
