Goodyear provides recommendations for Hungaroring weekend

Goodyear has provided a number of recommendations to teams in the FIA World Touring Car Cup ahead of this weekend’s event in Hungary to avoid a repeat of the issues that forced the Nürburgring races to be cancelled.

As previously revealed, teams will be provided with an enhanced version of the WTCR-specification tyre, which was run in a test at the Slovakia Ring earlier this week by teams representing four customer racing departments.

That test allowed the enhanced tyre to be compared to the standard WTCR tyre, with Goodyear having also compared data taken from the WTCR tyre in Germany with the tyre used a by TCR cars competing in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Following the various investigations, Goodyear has now recommended that the enhanced specification tyre should be used on the front axle of all cars for this weekend’s races at the Hungaroring.

The tyre supplier will also provide teams what it deems to be ‘suitable camber and tyre pressure settings’ for use in all on-track sessions.
