2015 CTCC driver line-up takes shape alongside revised calendar

The CTCC Committee has released a revised preliminary calendar for the 2015 season, with the season start now moved to May 17th at the Guangdong International Circuit, before the Championship heads to the Shanghai International Circuit and Shanghai Tianma Circuit in June, then visiting the South Korean Korea International Circuit in July 19th.

The CTCC will then return to China at the Zhuhai International Circuit in August 16th, before acting as the support race of WTCC in September 27th in Shanghai International Circuit.

The Yancheng Street Circuit on October 18th will be replaced as the seventh round. The season’s finale will be held at November 8th, but the venue is still yet to be decided between Chengdu Goldenport Citcuit and a Beijing based racing circuit approved by FASC.

In addition to the calendar, many teams have released their plans for the forthcoming CTCC season.

Shanghai VW 333 Racing and Chang’an Ford FRD Racing are preparing new cars.

Ford has already confirmed Darryl O’Young, Martin Xie Xin Zhe, Rainey He and Andy Yan as their drivers for this season, with no change to last year’s line-up.

The same applies to Shanghai VW 333 Racing, with Han Han, Wang Rue, Zhang Zhen Dong and the champion Jiang Tengyi all continuing to drive for the team.

Dongfeng Honda Racing have also confirmed their plans to compete in the CTCC even though further information has not yet been released.

Kia Racing has also confirmed two drivers – Leo Ye Hong Li and Jason Zhang Zhe Qiang – after signing Larry Lin Le Feng and Jim Ka To as leading drivers.

Haima Z1 Racing also proposed to enter the Super Production class with the latest M6 1.6T, with Chen Xu and Ryan Yu Feng as their drivers.

Teamwork Motorsport, competing with the Citroën C-Elysée, has confirmed Sunny Wong as their first driver, while Samuel Hsieh will compete for the first half of the 2015 season before Alex Hui takes over in the latter half of the season.

G Racing will field the brand new second generation Chevrolet Cruze this year, while Mazda China has already announced their plans to field a Mazda6 this year, but has not yet announced their drivers.
