Alex Hui puts Teamwork Citroën on pole in Korea

Alex Hui qualified on pole position for the fourth round of the 2015 China Touring Car Championship at the Korean International Circuit, with the Super Production and Cup classes combined to put together a 12 car field, with Larry Lin Le Feng second fastest overall for Kia Racing.

With Dong Feng Honda Racing, Haima Z1 Racing and G-Racing all missing the Korean round, the organisers chose to recombine the 2.0 litre turbo and 1.6 litre turbo classes, with Hui setting the fastest time in the 2.0 litre turbo Citroën C-Elysée with a time of 2:24.161 around the circuit.

It’s the first pole position for Teamwork Motorsport in the CTCC outside of the Super Production Cup class, while the fastest of the 1.6 turbo cars was Kia’s Larry Lin Le Feng, just over a tenth of a second behind, with team-mate Jason Zhang third fastest.

Championship leader Andy Yan was the fastest of the Changan Ford FRD drivers in fourth, just over a second off of Hui’s time, while Hui’s closest competitor in the same class was Shanghai VW 333 Racing’s Zhang Zhen Dong in seventh.

The CTCC race will take place at 13:17 CST on Sunday.
