Adam Morgan gets one-off Volkswagen factory drive in the CTCC

BTCC regular Adam Morgan will make a one-off China Touring Car Championship appearance for the official Volkswagen factory team at the Korean International Circuit this weekend.

”I can’t wait for this, it’s all been a bit rushed but that’s racing, some of these deals don’t come off until late in the day for various reasons, it’s just something that we have to get used too,” said Morgan.

The race takes place on the 9th-10th of July where the Brit will drive the two-litre turbo Volkswagen Lamando for Shanghai VW 333 Racing in the CTCC’s main Super Cup 2.0T class. Morgan will be the second British driver in the race, joining Dan Wells, who will race for the Changan Ford FRD Team in their Ford Focus.

”I am just over the moon that somebody over there wants me in their car, I will try and get a few PlayStation laps in before I go so that I’ll at least know which way to turn out the pits! I just want to repay the faith in the team and do a proper job for them.”

Morgan drives a Mercedes A-Class in the 2016 BTCC for Ciceley Motorsport, and is currently placed tenth overall in the champiosnhip with two victories so far this season.
