Adam Morgan loses debut race victory due to penalty

Shanghai VW 333 Racing driver Adam Morgan has lost his debut victory in the China Touring Car Championship after the stewards found him guilty of a jump start.

Morgan was handed a 10-second penalty by the officials, which drops him to second position behind team-mate Wang Rue in the final order.

Meanwhile, the CTCC stewards also chose to disqualify Changan Ford FRD Team driver Martin Cao from the race due to “dangerous driving”. Cao had finished fourth and had closed in on team-mate Rainey He in the standings, but now falls to fourth in the championship behind the Teamwork Citroën of Alex Hui and Ford team-mate Andy Yan in the championship.

Cao will also be forced to start the reversed grid Race 2 from last.
