Rob Huff takes first victory for Senova at the Jun Chi circuit

Rob Huff went from pole to victory in the first race of the China Touring Car Championship at the Jun Chi International Circuit, scoring BAIC Senova’s first victory with the Saab-based D60 in the Super Cup 2.0T class.

Huff led the way from pole position, while Changan Ford FRD driver Andy Yan moved his Focus up to second position ahead of Swiss driver Alex Fontana’s Kia K3 during the early stages.

Tomas Engström put on a charge in the Haima M6 to advance to fourth position, but retired on lap eight with a mechanical problem.

Huff was unchallenged up front and took the chequered flag 2.3 seconds clear of Yan, with Fontana completing the podium.

Zhang Zhen Dong finished as the best placed of the Volkswagen drivers in fourth ahead of team-mate Adam Morgan, and maintains his lead in the drivers’ championship.
