Foss gets new Mazda for Laguna Seca

SCCA World Challenge Touring Car driver Eric Foss will run the new Mazda 3 Sedan for TriPoint Motorsports this weekend at the Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca.

Foss has already secured the rookie of the year trophy, whereas last year’s winner, team mate Jason Saini – goes into the event hoping to secure the title in his Mazda 6.

TriPoint Motorsports took it’s first ever win at this circuit five years ago with the first generation Mazda 6, and will hope the new Mazda 3 will show similar performance when they switch to it full time next season.

With Texan driver Foss’s old Mazda 6 available, Chip Herr will stand in the #75 car and will hope to back-up Saini’s championship challenge.

Jason Saini leads the standings with 892 points, with RealTime Racing’s Acura drivers Pierre Kleinubing and Peter Cunningham on 838 and 812 respectively, with 135 points available from the weekend.
