Eversley takes win on series debut at Mid-Ohio

Ryan Eversley headed a Mazda 1-2-3 clean sweep at Mid-Ohio to claim victory in the World Challenge touring category in his first race in the series.

Eversley, who regularly races with CCTCC front-runners Compass 360 Racing in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series, took the class win for Maxwell Paper Racing in a Mazda RX-8 ahead of Jason Saini in the Team MER Mazdaspeed3. Eric Meyer, 2nd in the championship heading to Mid-Ohio was third in the XOWii Racing RX-8.

Meyer also picked up the Sunoco Hard Charger award, after starting last, he picked up 16 places on his way to finishing third in class.

Championship leader Robert Stout was fourth in his Scion tC, the first non-Mazda.

In the GTS class, Peter Cunningham took a confident victory, finishing ahead of team mate Nick Esayian.
