Stout takes championship title at VIR
Robert Stout has taken the Touring Class championship in World Challenge, with a second place finish at Virginia International Raceway.
Todd Buras took his second straight win on a great returning weekend in motorsport competition for the Illinois driver, but the focus was on Scion’s Robert Stout, who at 18 years of age, in his first season in the SCCA World Challenge championship clinched the drivers championship with two races to go.
Stout took two second place finishes this weekend, whilst title rival Eric Meyer had a disastrous weekend in the XOWii Racing Mazda RX-8. All of which helped Stout and the DG-Spec team to their first major championship, a year after their debut in the series.
Robb Holland’s VW Golf GTI of 303 Motorsports completed the podium.
The final round of the series is at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah on 3rd October.
