Taylor Hacquard on pole in Utah

Taylor Hacquard has put the i-Moto Mazdaspeed3 on pole position in the touring car class for the final World Challenge race of 2010, on his first run in the series.

Hacquard set a best lap of 2:12.114 around the Miller Motorsports Park circuit to claim pole position, ahead of Jeff Mosing’s Team MER entered RX-8.

Eric Meyer’s XOWii Racing RX-8 qualified third, ahead of i-Moto’s second car, driven by reigning champion Pierre Kleinubing making a welcome return to the series, qualified fourth in the touring class.

This saw Mazda complete a clean sweep of the top four positions in the session.

The first non-Mazda was fifth, that of the 3ZERO3 Motorspots VW of Robb Holland, with already confirmed champion Robert Stout sixth fastest in the Scion tC.

In the GTS category, the Real-Time Racing Acura TSX of champion Peter Cunningham secured the class pole position.
