Volvo C30s to race in the United States
K-PAX Racing will expand out of the World Challenge GT class into Touring for 2011, with plans to enter two Volvo C30s in addition to the S60 GT racer.
“Some may think it odd, but racing the Volvo C30s in the Touring Car class is a perfect fit,” said K-PAX team owner, Jim Haughey.
“The C30 is a front-wheel drive, two-door hatchback with a 5-cylinder turbocharged engine. It’s relatively aerodynamic and makes for a great platform to race in the Touring Car class.”
K-PAX Racing won the World Challenge GT class in 2010 with driver Randy Pobst in a Volvo S60. The team has yet to confirm their driver plans for the new season in the touring car category.
K-PAX partners 3R Racing are developing the S60 and C30s for the 2011 campaign.
