Macau Cup merges with the Road Sport Challenge for 2017 Macau GP

The organisers of the Macau Grand Prix, the AAMC, have confirmed that two of of the tin top classes will be merged from this year, with the CTM-sponsored Macau Touring Car Cup taking place alongside the more street tuner focussed Road Sport Challenge.

The race will now be a two-class affair, with the Macau Cup, which featured 1.6 turbocharged cars including the MINI Cooper and Peugeot RCZ Cup cars alongside FIA Super 2000-spec Chevrolet Cruzes, now racing with the Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi EVO-heavy Road Sport class.

Entries for this year race are required to have competed in this year’s Macau Racing Festival on either May 28th or June 25th at the Zhuhai International Circuit, with the top 25 permitted to race at the Macau Grand Prix in November.
