Dan Lloyd fills in for Darryl O’Young in the BAIC Senova at Guiyang

Dan Lloyd will make his second China Touring Car Championship appearance of the year, taking over the #97 BAIC Senova D60 of Darryl O’Young at the Guizhou Chun Chi International Circuit this weekend, as the Hong Kong driver has clashing commitments.

O’Young will be racing at Suzuka in the third round of the inaugural Blancpain GT Asia Series with Craft-Bamboo Racing, where he’s currently placed 17th in the standings. The series is currently led by former WTCC driver Marchy Lee and his co-driver, former BTCC driver Hunter Abbott in a GruppeM Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Lloyd, who now drives for Craft-Bamboo Racing in the TCR International Series, will drive O’Young’s Saab-based car this weekend in the CTCC, after racing for the Changan Ford FRD Team during the opening round at Zhuhai, finishing in second in Race 2.

Fellow Briton James Nash took over as the Ford squad’s international wild card driver at the following round at Guangdong, winning the second race, with the two TCR team-mates now pitted against each other in different manufacturers this weekend, with Nash returning for Ford.

Kia’s international wild card Alex Fontana is not present this weekend, nor will be Shanghai VW 333 Racing’s wild card entry Rob Huff, with Huff having clashing commitments with the WTCC, which is in action at Vila Real this weekend.
