Jim Ka To wins the opening race at Guiyang for Kia

Jim Ka To took Kia’s second win of the season in the first race at the Guizhou Chun Chi International Circuit this weekend, leading the Ford of Martin Cao and the BAIC Senova of Juan Carlos Zhu across the line.

Jim took the initiative after securing pole position on Saturday, leading the way from pole position, with the Kia K3 driver and the Ford Focus of Martin Cao breaking away from the field.

Juan Carlos Zhu and Dan Lloyd charged through the order in their Senova D60s in the early stages, with Lloyd then playing rear-guard for Zhu, fighting to keep back the Kias of Jason Zhang and Martin Xie.

Zhang would finish fifth behind Lloyd, with Zheng Zhen Dong of the Shanghai VW 333 Racing Team their best-placed driver in sixth.

Xie would finish seventh ahead of James Nash’s Changan FRD Ford Focus, with Sweden’s Tomas Engström in the Haima M6 ninth ahead of Jiang Tengyi in the Volkswagen Lamando.

Race 2 features the top 12 reversed grid, with Volkswagen’s Wang Rue starting from pole ahead of the BAIC Senova of David Zhu, and Jiang third.
