Rob Huff leads Dan Lloyd in Ningbo Free Practice 2

SAIC VW333 Racing’s Rob Huff also led the second 30-minute free practice session at the Ningbo International Speedpark, battling it out for the top of the time sheets with Dan Lloyd in the Beijing Senova Racing Team D70.

Rob Huff set the early pace, setting a benchmark in the low 1:53s in his Volkswagen Lamando GTS, before improving his time throughout the first ten minutes, bringing it down to a 1:53.003.

Huff’s time held until the final ten minutes, when Dan Lloyd went almost a second faster in his D70, before the Briton’s time was swiftly deleted due to a track limits violation.

Lloyd managed to still set a good lap on his second lap with a tie of 1:52.228 to take the top spot, before Huff fought back and went faster with the first lap under the 1:52 barrier, a time of 1:51.623, swiftly improving even further to a 1:51.278, almost a second clear of Lloyd.

Third fastest was Alex Fontana in the Kia K3, almost another second behind.

The Volkswagen of Rodolfo Avila finished the session fourth fastest, ahead of the Kias of Jim Ka To and Leo Yi Hong Li.

Championship leader David Zhu was seventh in his BAIC Senova D70, ahead of the Volkswagen of Jiang Tengyi, with Tomas Engström the best-placed of the Haima Z1 Racing M6ss in ninth, with reigning champion Zheng Zhen Dong tenth in his Volkswagen.

The best-placed of the Changan Ford FRD Team drivers was Martin Cao, 11th fastest and 2.9 seconds off the overall pace.

The next session for the CTCC is qualifying at 9:55 CST (3:55 CET).
