New CTCC championship leader Rob Huff: ”A perfect weekend”

Rob Huff has claimed the CTCC championship lead after a strong victory, podium and pole position at Wuhan.

“It’s been a perfect weekend. The car’s been fantastic and I’d like to thank the guys for doing such a great job,” said Huff.

The Brit races for SAIC VW333 Racing and is heading the championship despite missing four races of the calendar.

“I didn’t expect to be leading the championship having done less than half a season, but it’s a great feeling and shows what such a good job the boys have done with the car in the last few races,” said Huff.

Huff is closely followed by main rivals Martin Cao of Ford, David Zhu of Senova and manufacturer colleague Jiang Tengyi, with just 11 points separating the four.

“All four of us go to Shanghai with a chance of winning the championship, which will be very exciting, and also great odds for the Shanghai 333 Racing Volkswagen team at their home race,” said Huff.

Next up for Huff is the WTCC Race of Macau, where he is chasing a record-breaking ninth win, while the CTCC resumes in Shanghai in two weeks’ time.
