Norbert Michelisz given ten-place penalty for Yvan Muller clash

Norbert Michelisz has been assessed as guilty of the contact which took himself and Yvan Muller out of the first race at Zandvoort, with the Hungarian given his second grid penalty in as many races.

The BRC Racing Team driver had come together with Yvan Muller’s Hyundai at Hugenholz, with Muller’s car left on top of the barriers with severe damage to the left side of the car, for which Muller blamed Michelisz.

The stewards have sided with Muller and given Michelisz a grid drop for the first race tomorrow.

Michelisz had started 19th for today’s race after qualifying 14th, after serving a five-place grid penalty for contact with the Volkswagen of Rob Huff in the third race last week at the Nurburgring.
