Ryan Eversley claims Portland International Raceway pole position

Ryan Eversley claimed pole position for the first World Challenge race at Portland International Raceway with his RealTime Racing-prepared Honda.

Eversley claimed pole with a lap time of 1:18.342 and was close to three tenths of a second faster than Hyundai driver Mark Wilkins in second.

Wilkins’ Bryan Herta Autosport team-mate Michael Lewis was third fastest, exactly one tenth of a second slower.

Matt Fassnacht put his Audi RS 3 LMS in fourth position with 1:18.863 while Michael Cooper rounded off the top five in his Honda, close to nine tenths from pole position.

Mason Filippi was fastest of the Volkswagen drivers in sixth position for team TFB ahead of manufacturer colleague Michael Hurczyn in seventh position for team FCP Euro by HRD.

JT Coupal rounded off the top eight in qualifying with his Audi RS 3 LMS with a lap time of 1:20.088.

The first race of the weekend starts at 14:25 local time today.
