Michael Lewis claims superior pole position at Utah Motorsports Campus

Michael Lewis claimed a superior pole position for Bryan Herta Autosport in the World Challenge qualifying session at Utah Motorsports Campus.

The Hyundai driver was the sole driver to get below the 1:58-mark and was close to three seconds faster than championship leader Ryan Eversley who claimed second on the grid for RealTime Racing.

Lewis’ team-mate Mark Wilkins claimed third position on the grid, just seven thousands of a second from second place on the grid.

Mason Filippi, who was fastest in the final practice session, was fourth fastest, a massive two seconds from pole position.

JT Coupal was fastest of the Audi drivers in fifth position, 0.095 seconds behind Filippi.

Michael Hurczyn was fastest of the Volkswagen drivers in sixth position for FCP Euro by HRD while Matt Fassnacht and Jarett Andretti rounded off the top eight.

The first race of the weekend starts at 14:30 local time.
