Ryan Eversley claims vital season finale pole position

Championship leader Ryan Eversley claimed a vital pole position in the qualifying session for the World Challenge season finale at Watkins Glen.

The RealTime Racing driver claimed pole with a solid margin, beating Hyundai driver Mark Wilkins by close to six tenths of a second.

The pole also earned the Honda driver one point, extending his lead over title rival and Bryan Herta Autosport driver Michael Lewis, who qualified third, to eight points.

Eversley’s team-mate Mason Filippi claimed fourth position on the grid, three tenths slower than Lewis in third position.

JT Coupal was fastest of the Audi RS 3 LMS drivers in fifth position for Compass Racing while Nate Vincent claimed sixth position as the top Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR driver for FCP Euro by HRD.

Anthony Geraci and Jarett Andretti rounded off the top eight, 2.8 and 3.5 seconds from pole position respectively.

The penultimate race of the year starts at 15:00 local time and 21:00 CEST today.
