Ma Qing Hua drafted to support Volkswagen’s CTCC charge

Ma Qing Hua will join Rob Huff at the SAIC Volkswagen 333 Racing team this weekend, as the factory Volkswagen squad battle for the 2018 China Touring Car Championship’s manufacturers’ title.

Ma will join a star-studded line-up as the four manufacturers duel it out for the CTCC’s most coveted trophy. As a Chinese driver, Ma doesn’t count as a wild card, which allows the team to also field Rob Huff, taking back over from Colin Turkington, behind the wheel of one of the team’s Lamando GTS touring cars.

The team’s other two drivers are regulars Zhang Zhen Dong, the 2016 champion, and Macanese driver Rodolfo Avila. The team’s regular driver Yang Fan has been dropped for this round.

The Dongfeng Kia Racing Team lead both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ championships, and field Leo Yi, Jason Zhang, Alex Fontana and André Couto this weekend.

The Changan Ford FRD Team are running cars for three-time champion Andy Yan, Martin Cao, Rainey He and WTCR regular Pepe Oriola.

While BAIC Senova are running three cars for reigning champion David Zhu, Juan Carlos Zhu and Adam Morgan.
