Debutant Britt Casey Jr takes pole at Virginia

TC America series rookie Britt Casey Jr claimed pole position in this afternoon’s qualifying session at Virginia International Raceway, driving an Audi RS 3 LMS of McCann Racing.

Casey Jr. set a best lap time of 1:56.407 ahead of championship leader Michael Hurczyn, driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR from FCP Euro, 1.084 seconds behind. Michael McCann Jr, team-mate to pole sitter Casey Jr, was third, 1.7 seconds off the pace.

Nate Vincent finished fourth in the second Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR of FCP Euro, with Christian Cole in fifth driving the third Audi RS 3 LMS from McCann Racing.

Bryan Putt qualified in sixth with the Audi RS 3 LMS from ROWE Racing, with the sole Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR from the Risi Competizione team in the hands of James Walker in seventh, over five seconds off the pace.

Victor Gonzalez completed the TCR classification at the wheel of a Honda Civic Type R TCR from VGMC Racing, over six seconds from the pole time.

The start of Race 1 is scheduled for 15:55 local time, 21:55 CEST.
