Adam Morgan wins the first race of the weekend at Zhejiang

Adam Morgan has won the first race of the China Touring Car Championship weekend at the Zhejiang International Circuit, leading the way in his BAIC Senova D50 ahead of the two Kia K3 2.0Ts of Martin Cao and Zhang Da Sheng.

Morgan, taking part in his third wild card event of the year, finished two seconds clear of Cao’s Kia in the 11 lap reversed grid first race.

Behind the top three, SAIC Volkswagen driver Zhang Zhen Dong finished fourth ahead of team-mate Wang Rue’s Volkswagen Lamando GTS.

Jason Zhang’s Kia was sixth, ahead of Andy Yan, the best-placed of the Changan FRD Ford Team drivers in seventh.

Cai Yue’s Kia was eighth, with the Toyota Corolla of Sun Chao ninth, and David Zhu’s Senova completing the top ten.

The second race of the weekend takes place tomorrow at 13:00 CST, with Volkswagen’s Rodolfo Avila starting from pole position.
