Yu Kanamaru stripped of second after failing post-race inspection

Yu Kanamaru has been stripped of second place from the first TCR Japan series race of the weekend at Okayama International Circuit after failing the post-race inspection.

The Honda driver was excluded due to a ride height infringement, elevating Takeshi Matsumoto to second place and Hirobon to third place behind race winner Takuro Shinohara.

The exclusion drops Kanamaru from the points lead, instead promoting RT Team Wakayama driver Matsumoto to the lead on 114 points with Kanamaru second on 105 points.

The second race of the TCR Japan weekend at Okayama starts at 13:35 local time on Sunday.
